What made your day today?
What makes you happy?
What makes you smile?
What makes you feel good?
Is there something that makes you to say: "Ou, that made my day!"?
Have you ever thought about that? You would ask me: why I even need to think about it? Well, I don't know about you, but for me it is nice to know what makes me happy and what kind of things I like because not every day is a good day. In those bad days, sad days you really need something that can make you smile. Yes, God is our answer, yes, He is our strength and yes, only He can make us happy. And I believe that God can use those little things to show His love and His kindness and to make us smile.
Recently I bought a small notebook. I entitled it "Made my day" book. In this notebook I write those small things or situations that I have seen or experienced and that has made me to say: "Ou, that made my day!" (I'm smiling now, that is so effective!!! :D) It could be anything, starting from "evening with wool socks and a good book" ending with "I did it: bungee jumping!". I know that's funny, that's simple but that is so true!
Some examples from my notebook:
- today - "I went to the shop, and I felt familiar smell. And I thought - NO WAY! And there they were - gingerbread cookies! Ou, that made my day!"
- weeks ago - "I went by Origo and I noticed a man who usually begs for money, but this time he was helping to a lame lady to walk. They went slowly but they were laughing and talking. Such a genuine heart and love."
Sometimes you have a bad day, and you could feel sorry for yourself or you can do something about it. And the one thing that you could do is to remember all those things that had made you smile, all those ways how God had showed you His love. As people we love stories and testimonies, and this could be your testimony to yourself.
I encourage you, I challenge you to find and to see all those small things that make your day! Let God surprise you! You won't regret it!
